Greene County Beekeepers Association members are hobbyists or full-time beekeepers who are dedicated to the care and future of honeybees in and around Greene County, Ohio.  Some of our members are just getting started as beekeepers, and some have enjoyed their apiaries for decades!  All share an interest in the wonderful and remarkable world of apis mellifera.

Our goal is to promote the world of honeybees and apicultural activities.  We invite anyone interested in learning more about bees and beekeeping to come to our next meeting or event and join our organization.  If you have any questions, or just want more information, please contact GCBA.

Beginning Beekeeping

Greene County Parks & Trails is once again offering its Beginning Beekeeping course. This 6-week program is taught by Ohio Master Beekeeper and GCBA member Bill Starrett. Classes will be held on consecutive Thursday evenings starting February 1. Pre-registration closes January 29. For additional details and registration click here.

Second Year Beekeeping

Experienced beekeepers looking for additional instruction in advanced beekeeping topics will want to attend the Second Year Beekeeping class. Ohio Master Beekeeper Bill Starrett will conduct this all-day workshop on Saturday, January 20. Register at the Parks & Trails website by January 12.

(Note: Second year beekeepers will still benefit from retaking the Beginning Beekeeping course. Due to the volume of material covered in the class, some concepts aren’t fully understood until after spending a full season in the bee yard.)

We routinely meet the third Tuesday of each month, February – November at 7:00 p.m. at Greene County Media Room, 575 Ledbetter Road, Xenia, OH

See the About Us page for maps and directions.
